A lovely bottle of something has an uncanny ability to open up conversation, ensure conviviality and bring out new flavours in whatever may be on your table. As such, we wanted to share a selection of our favourite bottles at this moment, to be enjoyed at your leisure.

As the seasons change, so  will the wines  that we might choose, but they will always be appropriate for our food and from winemakers who share our appreciation for time and the land.

The current selection includes:

2019 En Attendant les Copains (Rouge), Domaine du Petit Oratoire, Southern Rhone
Lori Haon's lovely, fresh Cotes du Rhone (although, he's taken it out of the AOC this year, so not officially...) is an incredibly easy drinking red to pair with a suitably festive roast.

2020 Summer Field, Westwell, Kent
Clinging on to the end of summer, this wonderfully light blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay shows why Westwell are helping to demonstrate that English wine doesn't have to just be about sparkling.

2017 Bohem, Atelier Kramar, Goriska Brda, Slovenia
Using the local varietal Tocai Fruilano, former artists Katja and Matjaz have created a delicious surprise of a white wine that mixes a little honey richness with grapefruit acidity and a spicy finish. Yum.

And, if you opt for the additional 3 bottles, you'll also enjoy:

2020 Naturlich Pet Nat, Domaine Landron-Chartier, Loire
A direct press of Folle Blanche and Pinot Noir (that adds a very light pink-ish hue) with wonderful mousse-y bubbles.

2020 The Velvet Underschiste, Domaine Piera Levada, Faugeres
Something a little bit different. This Syrah/Grenache combo almost fizzes on your tongue, managing to balance a little acidity with wonderful aromatics. Capturing some 'South of France' sunshine deep into winter.

2020 Terre Silvate, La Distesa, Marche
Verdicchio fermented and aged in old concrete vats, beautifully nutty and saline, a cracking pork wine.
