Festive Lino Print Workshop and Lunch

Spend a day creating stunning lino printed Christmas cards and wrapping paper at Coombeshead farm, and enjoy a restaurant lunch, on Saturday 5th December 10am-4pm.

During this exciting workshop you will plan a festive lino print design and then, guided by Mary, cut it out using lino-cutting tools and techniques. There will be festive imagery available to draw from, or you are more than welcome to bring your own. Mary will provide a range of lovely artist quality ink colours  to print with, and greetings cards and eco wrapping paper to print your creations onto, ready to send or use to wrap gifts for loved ones.

The day will be held at Coombeshead farmhouse. All materials and aprons will be provided along with a delicious Coombeshead restaurant lunch and hot drinks throughout the day. This workshop is perfect for either beginners or someone with more experience of printmaking. Everyone will be learning, so no prior experience is required to join us. Each stage will be fully explained and demonstrated to make sure everyone feels confident in what they are doing. The day will be lots of fun and you will leave with a range of stunning prints on paper.

What you will learn-

• How to plan a successful composition
• How to create a one or two colour lino print using specialist printing tools
• How to ink up and print your plate onto paper using hand-printing methods

The course will be run by local artist-educator Mary Bowen, who has taught art and printmaking for the last 16 years in colleges, schools, charities and for private workshops in venues across Devon. Mary studied fine art (printmaking) at the University of Falmouth and has exhibits her prints and paintings in the SW.
